About Us ...
Bisaya Farms, was named from the region of the Philippines where Judy grew up, went to school and college. The Bisaya area of the Philippines supports many crops and livestock. When Judy came to the United States she was thrilled to be able to work with quality livestock. At Bisaya Farms our main focus is on raising quality sheep breeding stock. Bisaya farms is located in Central MN and Central Northern U.S. in a lush grassy region.
Ron and Judy work together tending three breeds, Katahdin, Romanov, and for fun the Jacob breed. Our goals are to raise sheep as naturally as possible without steroids or growth hormones. We researched and traveled extensively in U.S. to obtain quality breeding stock. We started with approximately 50 ewes and have consistently grown from there. Our initial thought in raising sheep was to provide a meat source for our family and friends.
Bisaya Farms strives to produce hearty, sound, functional, and parasite resistant lambs that will grow and take to the pasture with ease as expected. Our ewes are primarily RR and few QR ewes and we use only the best RR rams. Bisaya Farms is enrolled in the Voluntary Scrapie Free Flock Certified program. We are members of Katahdin Hair Sheep International Association. All of our flocks are tested OPP negative. |
